Steps for Applying for a Grant

Follow these steps when applying for funding:

Step 1: Review the General Grant Guidelines to determine whether your request:

Qualifies for consideration under a specific program

AND

The time during which the foundation accepts requests for the program.

Step 2:  Submit a complete application by the deadline date, if applicable.  Some grant applications are only accepted online.

Step 3:  Wait for the arrival of a confirmation from the Foundation indicating that your request was received

Step 4:  Pohlad Foundation staff review application materials.  The review may include requests for additional information (including answers to specific questions).   Staff will forward recommendations to the Foundation board which will consider the recommendations and make a final decision.  Depending on the program, this step can take a few weeks or months to complete.

Step 5:  All applicants will receive written confirmation of the decision on their request.  Most approved grants will receive a check with their grant letter.  Some will be paid after fulfillment of grant requirements.
